Prayer Feathers
Feathers from various birds have been used over time by native people for rituals, ceremonies, and for decorative purposes. They believed that the spirit and the gift of the bird remained with the feathers and could be called on to help them. Feathers can clear a space, and, when used with burning sage, fan prayers up to the Great Spirit. All of the feathers at Native American Trading Company are "given" feathers, which means that they are dropped by the birds and not plucked.
Prayer Fans
Prayer fans are used in the same manner as prayer feathers, but are appropriate for group gatherings and celebrations.
