| Prayer Feathers
Native peoples have used feathers from various birds for millenia, for rituals, ceremonies, and for decorative purposes. They believe that the spirit and the gift of the bird remain with the feathers and can be called on to help them. Feathers are used to clear a space, and, when used with burning sage, they fan prayers up to the Great Spirit. All of the feathers at Native American Trading Company are "given" feathers, which means that they are dropped by the birds and not plucked.
Prayer Fans
Prayer fans are used in the same manner as prayer feathers, but are appropriate for group gatherings and celebrations.
